When it comes to finding the perfect place to retire, choosing the right location is usually the focus – but of equal importance is choosing the right house design. At Village Lifestyle Park, you can build your own freestanding home from our carefully selected range of floorplans, or work with our building partners to custom design a home that is uniquely yours.
In our Design Focus series of articles, we showcase our most popular homes for over 55s. We’ve previously featured the stylish Allure, the contemporary Rawson and the classic Hazelwood – and this week, we’re looking at the beautiful and affordable Riverlander.
Living and Dining Area
The open-plan living zone is located at the front of the home and features a roomy dining area and comfortable lounge. Sliding door access to the covered front porch allows you to enjoy afternoon tea or an evening beverage in the fresh air, rain, hail or shine. The reverse-cycle split-system heating and cooling unit keeps things comfortable inside throughout the year, and the raked ceiling and large windows add a spacious and airy feel to the entire home.
Located within the living zone, the kitchen is well-equipped and includes a large walk-in pantry. The U-shaped design gives you plenty of bench space, and the open plan allows you to chat or watch your favourite TV shows while you cook.
Both bedroom 1 and 2 are a generous size and include ceiling fans to keep you cool on those hot summer nights. There’s easy access to the bathroom which is located opposite, plus, the master bedroom features a good-sized walk-in robe which gives you lots of room to store your clothes.
Bathroom and Laundry
As mentioned, the bathroom is ideally located near both bedrooms, and it includes a large 1200mm x 900mm shower base. The separate laundry has access to outside which is very handy when you’ve got a load of washing to hang out or have been in the garden and have muddy boots to remove.
The Riverlander looks great on the outside and the covered front porch creates a welcoming atmosphere. The contemporary cladding adds a touch of class, and the large covered deck provides the ideal place to relax or entertain as the mood takes you.
Final Word on the Riverlander
If you’re looking for a modern, comfortable and affordable home to retire in, the Riverlander ticks all the boxes. Not only does it look stunning, it also includes some great features to help you live happily throughout your retirement. But perhaps the best part is the price point – at just $199,500 (at the time of writing), you can build your own for less than $200,000!
