About the Lifestyle Villages Traralgon
Just because you’re moving into a new phase of your life, doesn’t mean that you need to be “looked after” or are ready to give up your independence. Many of our residents have told us that their top reasons to move to the village included:
- Wanting to downsize before it’s too late
- Having safety and security
- The opportunity for an active social life
- Getting good value on a new home, allowing less financial stress
Because of this, we place a strong emphasis on the following core values:
It’s important to us that our residents feel safe, independent, and heard, and all of our rules and procedures are geared around those core values.
What makes us different?
There are lots of options around for people looking for an over fifty-fives village. But we’ve been told again and again that there are several important factors that make us different from many of the options that are out there. These differences are:
- Strong sense of independence for all our residents.
- Self-contained homes with fences, giving you lots of privacy.
- Gated community where you have 24-hour access yet safety and security are assured.
- Immediate access to the renowned Latrobe Regional Hospital right next door.
- Lots of space to move around in nature on our spacious grounds.
- Sense of community with regular organised activities and a state of the art recreation building (See all facilities…).
- Ability to have visitors stay – either in your own home or in adjoining accommodation.
- NO deferred management fees (Read more about this…)
We’ll happily answer any questions you may have and show you first hand why dozens of local Traralgon retirees as well as Melburnians have chosen the Village as their over home.

About Our Residents
Our residents feel a sense of community and family at the Lifestyle Villages Traralgon. We place a strong emphasis on independence and having room to move. It’s very important to us that our residents have a sense of being self-sufficient when they want to be, and having space to get out and move around in nature. These things are just as important as the sense of community our residents feel. They regularly report feeling “part of the community” as soon as they move in. As if they’ve finally found their true home.
In a recent survey, our residents gave the following feedback about why they chose the Village over other options:
Top reasons for choosing Village (in their own words):
- Value, quality, and choice of the homes for sale
- Relaxed, friendly lifestyle
- Company & nice people to talk to
- Great managers
- Room to move
- Fences for privacy
- Limited number of lots, making it a desirable boutique village
- Being able to have a pet
- Less work on garden and home maintenance
- Close to town and other facilities (hospital, golf course, etc.)
- Option to keep caravan on site
Below, our residents share more of their experiences at the Village in their own words….
The Village is peaceful. Everyone is friendly. Safe living for single persons (women) like myself and also for other residents as we are all over 55. I feel very safe here. I chose the Village over other options for safety reason and a relaxed, friendly life and great managers who take good care of everyone. The village gives people more room to move and fences for privacy as I have friends living in other retirement villages.
We were first attracted by the idea of having company (if required), and the Village style homes. We liked the relocatable homes compared to other options, especially the wide range of homes to choose from. Moving to the Village has given us more financial freedom.
Living amongst people of the same age and being able to have a pet are what first attracted us to the Village. Also the value and quality of the homes. This park has a total of 68 homes making it a desirable, boutique village. We are more relaxed and able to go on a holiday without the worry of leaving our house.
New friends, socialising, bowls, darts, happy hour, lunches, footy tipping, B.B.Q, are my favourite things about the Village. Plus, it's not too far out of town. The price, the safety and how clean and neat it is also really appealed to me. I looked at other villages but this park and house was just what I was looking for. It is the best thing I have ever done. Come join us!
We enjoy the quiet lifestyle and have nice people to talk to. We liked that the blocks of land were bigger than anywhere else, and more private with fences in between blocks. There’s a good community hall with indoor swimming pool, billiards and exercise room. Life is more relaxing and we have more time to get away with our caravan, plus we don’t need as much time to work on our previous house and garden anymore. Our advice to others is, don't leave it too late to downsize so you can enjoy the quieter lifestyle.
The camaraderie of the people plus the support given to each other were the things that attracted us to the Village. It is also convenient to town and a good size block; plus great managers. The home was very affordable and came with a good size block, and there’s the ability to keep our caravan on site. Our social life is now more active than ever. Our neighbours are all in the same situation as we are, which makes for great social interaction.
The things that first attracted me to the Village were: Security. Social life. Friendship. And I didn’t have to move too far. Apart from the better security and social life, my lifestyle remains the same but with extra time to enjoy it. Don't wait. Do it!
We were first drawn to the Village’s proximity to Tralalgon and Morwell, as well as the friendly people (residents) and management. We also love the security of being able to move around one’s house and neighbourhood without worry. Other things we liked were site size, caravan storage, car/caravan wash bay, and proximity to the hospital. Both Traralgon and Morwell cover all shopping so the location is great. There are social activities available, pool and gym equipment, plus it’s pet friendly –a pleasant place to live, with helpful and friendly management.
Quietness, security, and cleanliness are what first attracted us to the Village. Also the companionship – however much or how little you want. We love the proximity to everything – hospital, shops, train stations, etc. It was difficult in the beginning but the people sure help you to adjust. I am happy and getting used to it.
We were first attracted by the social club, recreation room, activities, good neighbours, and amount of space around houses. We saw it online and had looked at several other villages which didn't offer as much. We love the caravan storage, plus there was a good choice of houses within our price range. Our life has improved in terms of having more security, a better social life with regular activities, and more travel as we know our house is secure. The Village is a great place to live with security, relaxation, agood local shopping centre and good local transport.
We chose the Village because it offered a sense of security. We also liked the friendliness of the other residents. It’s close to medical services with a peaceful atmosphere. We preferred this park to others we've inspected. There is more room between homes, and it’s nicely set out with wider streets. We now enjoy less housework and maintenance and have more time to be involved in our favourite pursuits. Come and enjoy our village life.
Our favourite things about living here are interaction with other residents and the way we all work together to help each other when residents are away or on holidays. One of the best things is the opportunity to be closer to family, hospital and shopping but still being in the country. We chose the Village over the other options because of the house design, privacy and more room within the village. We also liked the ease of access to family and facilities as well as the ease of access to the mountains and beaches.
Our favourite thing about living here is a sense of camaraderie with fellow residents. Residents may choose to join in socially or not. Village offered affordable accommodation suitable to our stage of life. Also, the standard of housing was superior to other villages in the Traralgon area. Fenced blocks allowed a sense of privacy. We partake in more social activities than with our previous neighbours. Management is also friendly and efficient. Check out other villages first then Village Lifestyle Park before making your decision. You will be impressed.
We first visited the village three years ago after talking to a previous neighbour who had recently moved into the village. After visiting the village and talking to the managers and a real estate agent, we decided this was the type of retirement/over 55s accommodation that would suit us.
One of our first priorities was to find somewhere that was not too large. Most other communities we visited had either way too many residences and/or the residences were identical in style. In some other cases, were joined together as pairs, which didn’t appeal to us.
Cost was a major consideration, which included not only the price of the residence but also the weekly Site Fee and Ingoing and Exit fees. Another reason we chose the Village was the inclusion of family pets. In our particular case, two dogs.
Our previous home was on a large sloping block in a small rural township. Both the home and garden were large and eventually, due to our health, we were no longer able to keep up with the ongoing maintenance of the home and gardens. Yes, we do miss the rural outlook and views, but we don’t miss the continuous workload. The lifestyle we now have due to downsizing is far more enjoyable and gives us time to hook up the caravan and do some travelling.
Our favourite things about the Village are its location in relation to a major hospital, other medical facilities and major shopping centres. We also love the size of the village – not too large with well-sized allotments. Another major plus is the availability of an indoor heated swimming pool.
We would have no hesitation in recommending the Village to prospective purchasers as we have done so in the past. One of the most frequently asked question of us, is in relation to the proximity of the Latrobe Airport. Our answer is that we do not see it as a problem as there is not the amount of noise generated as some people might imagine.
The Village can have a very friendly atmosphere, is very well located and has reasonable security. Since the introduction of Anchor Homes as the Village building partner, the selection of homes is extensive.
We love living at Village Lifestyle Park as it is very secure and we have great Managers. Activities include: Ladies Knit & Natter, Carpet Bowls, Cards/Board Games, Exercise Group, Happy Hour, Darts, Billiards, and Swimming. We now have a Committee to organise social activities such as movie nights, dinners etc. This is a great way of forming new friendships.
Why leave it any longer?
Arrange a time to come in and see the Village for yourself. Chat to our Managers, see the available houses, and meet some of your fellow residents. You’ll be glad you came.
